FoxBase ran on Mac, DOS and Unix platforms. FoxPro, starting with version 2.5, supported Windows as well. Fox Software was acquired by Microsoft in March of 1992. While there was a Macintosh version of Visual FoxPro 3.0, subsequent versions run only on the Windows platforms. In this paper, I look at how to learn Visual FoxPro. I am currently using VFP 9. I would like to create a PDF report directly from a VFP report. The report is divided into 10 different sections. The page numbers in the report should be in sequence. The report also includes letters and graphs (which are all done separately and merged later). My current systems prints to a text file and I convert the file into word and then convert the word doc to PDF. BTW - All this is done manually. Sometimes I have to work with over 20 reports. It is such a time consuming process. I want to by-pass the text file and the word doc. I would like to print directly to PDF. Any ideas???? From this link, I've been using for years and its free: >Print 2 PDF (Updated: 2007.01.19 12:29:28 AM)Namespace: VFP >Edit -Find- Recent Changes Categories Road Map [A-F] [G-P] [Q-Z] New Topic Home >Search: >Print 2 PDF is a free/fast/simple way to create PDF files directly from VFP. Our program uses the exact system describer above with ghostscript and it has worked fine for years (on XP machines). However, we are converting over to Windows 7 and when trying it on a Windows 7 machine, we get errors. From what I have read (I am not a programmer, just a network guy who inherited this problem), it will not work because there is no Postscript driver available for Windows 7 and Adobe is not going to make one. Does anyone know a way to resolve this problem with no postscript driver for Windows 7? Thanks, Anthony. I have been using the PDF library for some time now for both VFP6 & VFP8 apps and am happy with its performance. Although it is a paid product, you can try the evaluation version here to see if it meets your needs: Quick Sample:Private edir, pdfnameLocal losessionedir = Addbs(Getenv('userprofile'))+'desktop ' && path to desktoppdfname = edir+'Myreport.PDF'losession=xfrx('XFRX#Init')losession.setembeddingtype(3)lnretval = losession.SetParams(pdfname.T.,,,,'PDF')If lnretval = 0 losession.ProcessReport('report1',,,) && where report1 is the name of your.frx report file losession.finalize =Messagebox('Myreport.PDF Sent To The Desktop.' ,64,'System')Endif HTH Mike z. Out of Microsoft Visual Foxpro (VFP), I can print a report to the printer “PDFCreator”. I determine the PDF Creator output directory for the pdf output file in the PDF creator options. This works perfect! My need is to determine the pdf file name before every printing process.
